Questions and answers...
Why Bobby Earle?
Couples decide to go with me because they are looking for a photographer who delivers beautiful, consistent images. No matter how bad the lighting, weather, or location, my couples know that their photographs are completely taken care of - and they're booking me to have that confidence. So my pricing has very, very little to do with product per dollar - it's all about client confidence, consistency, beautiful images and a great all around experience.
Can we see some weddings from beginning to end?
Absolutely! Full, recent weddings are the only way you can truly know what your photographer is currently capable of. This is exactly why I have my blog. Be sure to click the link in the top right corner for my blog. That'll let you see all of my recent work - much of which will be full wedding slideshows.
How do we save our date and how does payment work?
A simple $1500 retainer is required to hold your date. This retainer is non-refundable as it is payment for us marking our calendar off - not something we do for free :) For international weddings it is a $2500 non-refundable retainer. The remaining amount is due 60 days prior to the wedding date.
Can I provide you with a list of all of the photographs that I want?
I think the first few weddings I shot I carried "the list." I was so nervous to make sure that I checked off every little box on the list that I had very few candid, organic photos to choose from. I learned very fast that lists just aren't for me. Oddly enough, ever since I ditched the list I have gotten more beautiful "list shots" than ever! Now, if there is a specific photo or two that are extremely important to you, you can absolutely let me know about it. I never mind specific requests. It's just those big Martha Stewart lists that scare me :)
What do you shoot with?
It seems to be added to every month, but at the moment we are shooting with the following (all Canon):
40D, 5D(x2), 1D Mark II N, 5D Mark II (x2), 24mm f/1.4L, 50mm f/1.2L, 135mm f/2L, 15mm f/2.8 16-35mm f/2.8L, 24-70mm f/2.8L, 70-200mm f.2.8L IS, a few 580EX Speedlites, about 60gb's of compact flash cards, and other little goodies...
Am I responsible for providing you with a meal?
It's an industry-standard that if we are present during the meal that we be provided a meal - and we require that to be with the wedding guests. Lindsay and I will be running around for many hours and simply have to eat at some point. Having us seated with the wedding guests is required as it enables us to continue photographing through the important moments of your wedding. On one end, it enables us to keep going (as we need nourishment at some point) but on the other it enables us to break for a meal while still having the ability to capture key moments of your wedding day. It's a win/win :)
How many images can I expect?
No way to say for certain. To give you an idea, the smallest amount of photos I've ever given has been around 250 with the largest being somewhere near 1000.
When will my images be ready?
Generally, albums and prints take around 2 months from ordered date and everything else - slideshow, online gallery, etc. - takes about 6 to 8 weeks. However, due to supply and demand with my printing company, please allow 3 to 6 months for wedding albums and prints.
Will having a videographer affect my pictures?
Most videographers are professional and unobtrusive. Some like to stand very close to the couple throughout the ceremony and the first dance which ultimately results in images with the videographer in them. A word with them beforehand will usually suffice.
