So we finally picked up our new dog yesterday! For those that don’t know, he’s a Rottweiler and (if you can’t tell by the title of this blog post) we’ve named him Trouble :)
Clyde was my #1 and Trouble was Lindsay’s #1… We decided on the latter because I liked Lindsay’s choice more than she liked mine – and be honest, who doesn’t think a Rottie named “Trouble” isn’t awesome?! From “here comes Trouble” to “don’t mess with Trouble…” – the possibilities are endless! :P
We were constantly reminded by others how rad it would be to pick up a rescue Rottie – but Remmy has issues with larger dogs, so we knew if we wanted one, we’d have to start small. Some people said “bad idea,” but we looked into the matter quite seriously, and I think we made a good decision!
At first, Remmy just didn’t get it. She had this look of “what the heck is this?!” Late in the afternoon, however, they started tug-O-warring together. Remmy brought the toy over to Trouble and would just pull Trouble around the yard until he let go (and he’d hang on for dear life – shaking his head like he’s trying to rip the toy apart… SOOO cute!). Then Remmy would bring back the toy to Trouble and start again. All with a nearly 7 week old puppy! I can’t imagine how much fun they’ll have when Trouble can really pull back :)
Anyways, here are some photos from the first day of our new two dog life!

One of the things I was most excited about was my nephew, Izzy. He’s about the same age I was when I got my first dog – and I think it’s that age where you go from liking to pet the fuzzy animal to being able to legitimately appreciate a dog’s companionship. Needless to say, he was ENAMORED with Trouble :)

Trouble likes to crawl in REALLY tight spaces and fall asleep. It’s so freaking cute. The above is his legs sticking out and below is the same place from another angle…

Roadkill.

Trouble watching Remmy eat.

And Remmy returning the favor. How cute is Trouble’s face being shoved into the bowl?!

Look at that face!
Getting another dog is already as fun as can be – but seriously, all of you guys helping us with names and getting excited with us… it genuinely made the whole experience even more fun and memorable! No lie.
