The Darlington House. What lovely, hidden, little gem in San Diego! An old, historical residence with international flare — and tons of awesome places to shoot on site (not to mention the beach is right around the corner). This is truly a great place to get married. Thanks to Deann for having me along to shoot it with her :)

I always feel for fathers of the bride. I know that if their daughter is marrying someone they love, they are happy for their daughters. Still, there’s something about giving a daughter away that always hits me.

The Abbey Catering and Event Design did an awesome job on the planning/catering/details!

Every once and a while, I see something at a wedding I’ve never seen before. This “garter toss” was one of those things. Instead of throwing a garter, they did a sort of “hot potato” with a horse shoe :) The bride’s step dad played music while the single guys passed the horse shoe around. Whoever had it when he stopped was the winner. I have to call “shenigans” at least a little bit — since he was looking and just happened to stop on his son :P But hey, you can’t blame a guy for wanting grandchildren :)

serena - Wow! These are so elegant! I love your "from above" perspectives. Looking down on the wedding from an upstairs wedding is very cool! Can I be cheeky and ask you what lens did you use on this shoot? It looks kind of dreamy and relaxed.July 29, 2010 - 12:49 am
