I’ll be taking retainers for next year’s RPTE to Thailand and Cambodia very soon. Email me at info@bobbyearle with the subject “RPTE 2012 SIGNUP” and you’ll be on the list of first people to be able to jump on before it’s announced on the blog.

These next two days were incredible. We went to Erawan in Kanchanaburi for a full day of waterfalling :) After spending the evening hanging out on the River Kwai, we woke up bright and early for the trek into Cambodia. We spent the afternoon in Siem Reap at the temples and, most importantly, with my tuk tuk family. Seeing them, as always, was an incredible treat. I love these guys so much — a year between visits is just too long.
Within hours, the entire group seemed to have a sense for what I was constantly referring to. The difference that sets Cambodia apart. Thailand is incredible, but Cambodia is magical. There’s something so welcoming about it.
Hank ate some insane little pepper that put him on blast for probably 20 minutes. Kaan, my friend who’s guesthouse we stay at, gave him a packet of sugar to help :)
On our way to Erawan falls.
Hank jumped off of the TOP of this waterfall. Here’s the video. Crazy.
And after one more amazing sunset over our hangout spot, we were off to Cambodia…
Today we headed out with the best private boat charter in Phuket. I’ve used a few boat charters out in Phuket and Geoff and Alan are in a league of their own — hands down.
The day is impossible to fully describe. It tends to leave nearly everyone on the trip speechless. Just one of those things. Awesome snorkeling. Incredible water. Islands all around. It’s just one of those things that has to be experienced at some point :)
We are in the thick of the 2011 RPTE — and it’s been an incredible 3 days so far. Day one had us arriving in Phuket, going straight to the beach, and then immediately getting monsooned on for like two solid hours. I’m with the raddest group so every single one of them had a blast in the torrential downpour…
All of these rain photos were taken with Ellie’s underwater PnS… SO glad she brought it!
Hank the tank.
The ocean being pelted by giant, sideways raindrops.
I’m part dolphin. Ellie’s part dolphin photographer.
Liz was pretty dang scared of snakes before we went to my friend’s snake farm. Within 20 minutes, she went from gasping for air to being a snake handler :)
I am getting so excited about the next RPTE to Thailand and Cambodia this December!!! Just wanted to let everyone know that there’s currently room for two more couples (you don’t have to be a couple, but often people come in pairs ;). Email me (info@bobbyearle.com) with “RPTE 2011” in the subject and I’ll get you the info for signing up :)
One of my favorite places we go to is a city out in western Thailand, near the border of Myanmar (Burma), called Kanchanaburi. Tiger temple, the waterfalls, the elephants… That’s what this leg of the trip is about. And those three things are some of the most exciting things a person can do on this planet! So I made a quick two minute video of footage from Kanchanaburi that I have never used before. Check it out!

The weird thing about this photo is that I’ve been to Tiger Temple so many times now that walking a tiger is no longer weird :P
Remember, there will always be a million reasons not to do something like this. The excuses that exist this year will likely exist next year and the year after that. But I can guarantee you that this is the trip of a lifetime. I come home a better person every time I return from Thailand and Cambodia…
So I’ve got a new RPTE site up! Check it out and let me know what you think :D
We’re half full for our Thailand/Cambodia trip this December!!! So if you’re wanting to come, make it happen! As I always say, the excuses that are keeping you from coming this year will almost certainly be there next year… and the year after… and the year after that.

Here’s an amazing clip of the Tonle Sap (one of our day trips out in Cambodia). One of my dearest friends, and an always RPTE attendant favorite, Mister Don, making music with a water bottle. As always with Mr. Don, he ends up being his favorite comedian and cracking himself up. He’s like this every second of the day. It’s incredible :)
