Cutest kids in San Diego: Izzie and Mo

So my nephew’s (Izzie and Mo) were playing their little kid hearts out in my dad’s garden today. I had to grab my camera…

I assure you – it’s mud. Mo was literally sticking his head straight into a mud puddle :)

Best buds.

Biggest. Cucumber. Ever. (probably not though)

I think Izzi’s giving himself a rhino horn on the right – something like that :)

They’re the cutest little guys, aren’t they? :)

Scott and Cheryl: Family time!

So I met Scott last year. He lives up in Stockton and emailed me one day saying “hey, I’m going to be in SD… want to grab lunch?” Little did I know, we both had so much in common. Both lived in SD county, have wives that taught/teach preschool, both photographers, skate/snow/surf… obviously, we hit it off :)

Well I haven’t actually seen him since that day about a year ago. He emailed me this past weekend telling me they were down and wanted to do a family session with us – I was psyched not to just shoot him and his family, but more to hang out again! For those of you that know Scott, you know what I’m talking about. One of the nicest guys out there.

Anyways, here are the photos…

Huntley was literally burying himself :D

Scott trying to convince Huntley that taking more pictures really is fun ;)

Looking for seals.

Family tickle fest :)

How hot do they look here?!

I love Cheryl’s overall look :)

Baby sandwich!

Scott, it was so rad shooting and catching up again. Cheryl, Eden, and Huntley, it was a pleasure finally meeting who Scott always talks about :D

I’m LOVING family portraits!

Now that I said that, we had a great time shooting Katie and Anthony’s little family. What’s even better than that? We’re shooting their wedding in January!

Anyways, now to the photos…

I love the next few of these cute little sisters :)

You ready for my favorite from the whole day?!?! Probably my favorite family portrait ever…

It’s like a baby being smothered in love :)

Can’t wait for the wedding in January!

Thanks to everyone who gave me awesome suggestions on a good comedy. I swear, we all have the same taste in movies! I mean, Nacho Libre, Reno 911, Stepbrothers, Shaun of the Dead… you guys basically listed off our favorite comedies! Nice to see how alike we all are :D

We ended up watching both Kill Bill’s as we couldn’t settle on a comedy. Man I LOVE those two movies!

I’ve been ignoring portraits…

It’s true. I have. For some reason, I’ve completely ignored portrait photography. People ask, I turn it down… But for some reason, I’ve been really wanting to get back to shooting portraits again! I think it was the couple family sessions I had last month. They were just so fun. I forgot how rad it is to shoot parents with their kids :)

Anyways, I’ve FINALLY got a family gallery up on my site. You can check that out here. More importantly, I’ve taken the advice of my portrait photography friends and built a pricing structure that is a bit more typical in portaiture. You can check that out here.

Be sure to A) let me know what you guys think of the gallery! and B) let me know if you want some family portraits! We are going to kick off with being CRAZY busy in May (I think we’re getting to every continent besides Antarctica after that point), so the sooner the better :)

Svetlana - I love the music you have on your website! I like the image you used for your portrait gallery and I like the price, too! I'd definately hire you if I lived closer.April 7, 2009 - 5:08 am

David - They look great, man. You should definitely start promoting this stuff more. I'm thinking maybe we should fly down to San Diego.April 7, 2009 - 5:48 am

Mamacita Chilena - I like the music too!

I try to steer clear of kid photography. I like it on occasion, but I definitely get bored when I do a ton of those kinds of shoots. So hopefully you don't burn yourself out. Do whatever makes you feel creative!

PS. Too bad you're not coming to Antarctica. We'd totally meet you there, they're like our next door neighbors. :PApril 7, 2009 - 10:53 am

Julie Cruz - Awesome! :)

If you ever need a kiddo test subject, i've got this little chinese kid at my house that you are free to "borrow" any time you like ;) Oh wait, that kid is your adopted chinese daughter ;) But yeah....I always love seeing how others photograph her (plus it's nice to have pics for her agent to add to their site/portfolio).....so if you have any ideas you are itching to try out...let me know ;)April 7, 2009 - 11:22 am

Leslie Lana - once we have kids, we're flying to san diego asap. hopefully you'll still be doing portraits in 5+ years :)April 7, 2009 - 7:30 pm

Stephanie Feese - Well I think we are ready for another round Bobby! We just love the work you have done for us in the past and would like to keep with that tradition!!! When can we book? I know you are very busy, but Max will only be at this sweet age of 1 for a very short time! We are wanting to to it ASAP! Let me know!April 8, 2009 - 5:40 am

Linda - Glad to see you will be doing more family portraits. the ones you have done have been great and the relationships are so fun. My favorite to shoot, personally.April 8, 2009 - 11:14 am

Char Baiz - Joel and I love the photos you did for our family!!! If your up for it, I think we've decided we'd like to do it every year, possibly every 6 months ... as long as your in the country when the time comes around :)April 9, 2009 - 7:31 am

Manda - Hilarious!

I just found out tonight from my husband's Grandma Joyce that we're second...no, third...no, extended...to the 10th power cousins...in-law! Your photography is so inspiring. We all oohed and awwwed over your site tonight after dinner, and of course Grandma Joyce said you were just the best and the sweeeeeeeetest boy on the entire face of the earth. Kristie and Josh had to concur.August 7, 2009 - 10:54 pm
