Nashville Wedding Photographer. Sorta…

We’re coming to Nashville!!! We really wanted Lindsay’s family to have real, quality time with Clive — and you just can’t do that with a week’s visit. So we are packing up the dogs, renting a house, and headed out there for all of February and March!

We’ll be doing a handful of portrait sessions while we’re out there with a ripping Nashville discount. $500 for the session AND your disc of negatives (either a couple session or a family session). Here at home, I charge $1000 for the disc of negatives alone, so I’m trying to show some southern hospitality in hopes of fitting in with the locals :) And I can’t imagine doing more than five of these while I’m out there, so if you want in, email me asap.

If you’re getting married and still need a photographer last minute, I’ll be up for shooting ONE wedding while I’m out there. Since I’ll already be out there, there’ll be zero travel fees :)

Maybe we can do a little meet up/get together at Chick-fil-a while we’re out there? Can’t wait to be back in Nashville!!!

My little ninja…

Follow me on Twitter / Be my friend on Facebook

We recently found out that if Clive goes to bed around 10pm-11pm, he’ll sleep in to about 7am a fair amount of the time. His normal schedule was going to bed around 8pm and waking up at 2am, eating, then back up at like 6am for more food. So this later bedtime thing is WAAAYYYY better.

On Christmas eve, we had to find a way to pass the time. If we stay at home, he refuses to stay awake. We called tons of places, and In n Out was one of the places that was open! So we spent Christmas eve at In n Out :)

While we were there, we noticed that he was looking like a little ninja hiding his eyes behind his outfit. What you can’t tell from this photo is that he’s also sucking on the inside of his collar. Having been to Asia many, many times, I can assure you that this is an ancient ninja meditation technique…

Folsom prison blues for Clive…

So Clive loves Johnny Cash. Not that he has much choice in the matter, but if we lay him down and play Johnny Cash from our iPhone, Clive will sit for a long while and just listen. It’s so cute. Being a life long Johnny Cash fan, this makes me happy :)

I shot a little video yesterday of him enjoying some Cash. Tune into the 45 second mark to see Remmy smother Clive in kisses :)

Link for Facebook/Feedreaders.

I love this little guy.

RPTE 2010: Thailand and Cambodia. Last day.

Follow me on Twitter / Be my friend on Facebook

The final post. Day 13, or 14, or something like that… It makes me sad! And I’m not kidding, either. After two weeks of traveling with a like-minded group of people, you bond so incredibly fast. It’s like a year of knowing someone in the real world. A sort of “third level dream speed inception” type of thing… Okay, that might be a bit much :) Let’s get to it…

Nearly all boat charters pick you up 9am. This means you hit all the good spots with hundreds of other people doing the same thing. One thing we do is leave a bit earlier (thanks to Geoff), getting to each spot hours before everyone else. We got picked up at like 6am, so we caught the sun rising over Phi Phi on the way out.

This is Maya Bay. Where The Beach (Leonardo DiCaprio) was filmed. It’s normally a tourist trap — but when you get there early enough, it’s one of the most beautiful islands in the world. We were the only speedboat there — with a small handful of local longtail boats. When I went on a normal island tour (only made that mistake once), there were literally speedboats spanning the shoreline. We had to wait in the bay in a line for our turn to “park”. This is way, way better. When we left, the first speed boats from Phuket just started pulling up :)

Our first snorkel stop. Amazing.

Cruising around the islands checking out the old viking caves. This is now a place where local Thais harvest bird nest soup.

We parked here and all had an amazing swim. The water temperature is unreal here. Especially coming from SoCal where the water is FREEZING!

Courtney quickly realized that holding coconuts like this around a group of guys was not going to go unnoticed :)

I absolutely loved this trip. I hated saying goodbye to the amazing group that let me lead them around my favorite region of the world. I truly feel like every time that I leave Thailand and Cambodia, I return a better person. Completely inspired by a more simple life. Given a perspective that is hard to find in the west. If the people that came on this trip, that I now consider my friends, feel even slightly the same way, then that’s all I could ask for.

To the crew that came, thanks so much for trusting me enough to come on what was the trip of a lifetime. After last year’s group, I thought that I could never have as much fun with another group. How wrong I was. Each one of you is so dear to me now — I can’t be sincere enough in saying how much I wish we were all hanging out of a tuk tuk while Mr. Don tries to scare one of us :) Thank you so much for opening up and letting me share with you a part of the world I genuinely adore.

I’m already soooooooooo excited about next year’s RPTE! It will either be December of 2011 or January of 2012. If you want to come on next year’s RPTE, email info@bobbyearle.com with the subject “RPTE” and I’ll get you on the list. And remember, there’s always a million reasons not to do something like this. And the reasons that are there for this year will most likely be there next year (and the year after that). Stuff like this doesn’t happen on it’s own. Make it happen or it will forever pass you by ;)

Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!

Merry Christmas!!!!!!!!!!! I feel like I sort of missed Christmas this year with all the craziness of having my first child, leading the last RPTE, going for the first time without Lindsay and Clive, getting back just a few days before (and sleeping a lot due to jetlag)… But still, it’s Christmas!

For all of you who are fortunate enough to be with your families, I hope you have an incredible time with them. And if you know anyone who isn’t so fortunate, now’s a great time to extend an invitation so they aren’t alone for the holidays. There isn’t a better time of year to show love to your fellow man (or woman). Extending kindness is one of the many things that makes the Christmas season so amazing :)

So Merry Christmas!

This is one of the spots we snorkeled at while island hopping out it Thailand on this month’s RPTE. I saw my first cuttlefish on this snorkel trip! Two of them, to be exact ;)
